I am pleased to invite you to the 17th European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity (EUCAPA), that will take place in the beautiful city of Seville (Spain) from June 11-14, 2024. The EUCAPA has always been a remarkable event that fosters the exchange of research and practice in the field of adapted sport and physical activity. This Congress brings together academics, researchers, students, stakeholders, and practitioners from around the world to promote research and professional excellence in adapted physical activity on a global scale.

Aligned with the Congress theme «Participation and Inclusion in Sports for Quality of Life: Paris 2024 Horizon,» we envision this congress as an ideal platform to promote mutually beneficial partnerships among all participants. The upcoming Paris Paralympic Games in 2024 will be a significant theme of discussion within this Congress, encompassing the large variety of topics in adapted sport.
EUCAPA 2024 will facilitate an excellent exchange of ideas through practical workshops and presentation sessions. This Congress promises to be an unforgettable event, offering a breadth of meaningful content and professional networking opportunities. The European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity (EUCAPA) is a bi-annual scientific conference organized by the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA), and therefore, its objectives are the promotion and dissemination of experiences, results, and findings in the fields of adapted physical activity and sport science, and their practical application to the benefit of individuals across the life span. On behalf of the Pablo de Olavide University and the Faculty of Sports Sciences, I invite you to participate in the European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity 2024 (EUCAPA 2024), which will be held in Seville, Spain, on June 11-14, 2024.
The University Pablo de Olavide is a young higher-education institution based in Seville (Spain). The University was founded in 1997 and comprises a a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, in areas ranging from Social Sciences and the Humanities, Law, Environmental Sciences and, of course, Sport Science. It is physically arranged in a unified Campus in which teaching and research staff, students and visitors can easily go about with their daily occupations. Academic life is smoothly integrated with research, social and sport activities. The University can be accessed by bus, underground and even bicycle or electric scooter, thanks to the network of cycle paths that runs through the city and connects it with the Campus. The university is fully accessible for persons with reduced mobility.
The School of Sport Science was created in 2004 and ever since its foundation it has succeeded in offering top quality teaching and learning. The School is ranked on international rankings and is accredited by the Spanish Quality Accreditation Agency (ANECA). It is also a member of international higher-education networks. It is a great pleasure for us, as Chairs of the Scientific Committee, to send you our warmest greetings and invite you to attend the European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity (EUCAPA 2024). Organized by the University Pablo de Olavide and the European Federation of Adapted Physical Activity (EUFAPA). The Congress will bring together researchers and academics of recognized prestige and, especially, will be attended by professionals of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences working in the field of people with disabilities.

Both EUFAPA and the Organizing Committee have been working to ensure that the Congress meets all their expectations for a scientific and academic program of the highest level. The event will be a propitious place to exchange experiences and learn about innovative intervention proposals in the field of people with disabilities. The city of Seville, known as the «Pearl of the Guadalquivir» or, as many prefer to call it, «the sister of Rome, the other eternal city», awaits you.

On behalf of the regional congress-organizer Events GB, I am pleased to welcome you all to the 17th European Congress of Adapted Physical Activity. It is a big pleasure for us to organize the next edition of the congress in Spain. Hosted by our partner city Sevilla and the outstanding academic institution “Universidad Pablo de Olavide” this congress brings together academics, teachers, educators, coaches, therapists and rehabilitation professionals from all over the world!
The EUCAPA takes place to promote, facilitate and coordinate European cooperation in research and professional provision of services in Adapted Physical Activity (APA) for people with disabilities. In a diverse and changing democratic society it is necessary to show leadership in the delivery of education and professional collaboration in this relevant field.
The congress provides an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, knowledge and to contribute to innovative changes. All EUFAPA members, colleagues and students are invited to participate in this unique scientific and academic program! I’m sure, it will be an amazing and enriching experience for everyone!
